Ice Prince came on the scene in 2010 and has taken his career to heights no one imagined he would take it to.
4. Cassper Nyovest – South Africa
Cassper has been in the game since he was 16 and released his first album Tsholofelo last year and dominated the Channel O awards.
5. M.I – Nigeria
M.I Abaga is a living legend and has been on the scene since the 2006 when he dropped Crowd Mentality. He was nominated for a B.E.T award in 2010.

The man is another living legend who has been running the game for over 10 years. He came on the scene with Teargas in 2004 and has since evolved and started the movement known as Skhanda.

The Blact star rapstar has been in the game since the mid 2000’s. Manifest is one of the best lyricist on the continent.

K’nan is one of the few African rappers to break in to the American market and made the 2010 world cup song.

Zeus has been dropping hits for a minute and is undoubtably the Jay-Z of Botswana.
10. Phyno – Nigeria
Phyno is a great lyricists whose been making music for a while as a producer and has such a unique rap style.
11. Olamide – Nigeria
The Nigerian rapstar who has helped our party scene with his club hits in the last 2 years.
12. Dee Money – Ghana
The young rapper has been repping the continent all over the world.
13. Octopizzo – Kenya
Octopizzo has been in the game for a while and is also an actor who has featured on Mtv’s Shuga.
14. Tumi – South Africa
The lyricist has been at it for more than 10 years and has performed at all the prestigious venues, maybe not all but a lot. Tumi has done a lot for African rap.
15. Stunner – Zimbabwe
Stunner is definitely Zimbabwe’s most influential rapper and most successful at the moment. His art has taken him around the world and his music managed to get him nominations at award ceremonies in and outside Zimbabwe.
16. Youssoupha – Congo
The Congolese rapper came on the scene in 2005 and has been going hard since having dropped 6 albums to date.
17. Dama Do Bling – Mozambique
She is Mozambiques Queen of hip Hop and has been doing it since the 2000’s.
18. Fid Q – Tanzania
Fid Q has been bringing the flame through the sharp lyricism!! He has won the best Video award at the Channel O’s.
19. Cleo Ice Queen – Zambia
The young Zambian rapstress has a different sound from anyone else.
20. Cal Vin – Zimbabwe
Cal Vin has brought Zim hip hop to the continent, the young rapper has an impeccable flow and you can feel the hunger in his razor sharp lyrics.
